What The Carolina Clay Guild Does

143941-166602-thumbnail.jpg The Guild shares information and experience in a variety of formats. Programs presented at regular meetings include such topics as photographing ceramics, hand-building and wheel-throwing tips and techniques, tax and accounting responsibilities, and studio safety. Recent speakers have shared knowledge regarding the submission of work to galleries, and presented exciting techniques for glazing, simple mold and stamp-making, techniques of the Mata Ortiz, and clay and glaze calculations, among other subjects.

The Guild also sponsors several workshops each year. We have hosted a number of esteemed potters in past years and have enjoyed learning from many masters of the craft. For more information on the kinds of workshops we host and to learn how you can attend upcoming events, click on the name of the visiting potter, or visit our Events Page.

All members receive the newsletter, which reports on upcoming events, items for sale, and Guild business. Members receive an email copy of the newsletter.
