What The Carolina Clay Guild Does

143941-166602-thumbnail.jpg The Guild shares information and experience in a variety of formats. Programs presented at regular meetings include such topics as photographing ceramics, hand-building and wheel-throwing tips and techniques, tax and accounting responsibilities, and studio safety. Recent speakers have shared knowledge regarding the submission of work to galleries, and presented exciting techniques for glazing. Upcoming talks will also include simple mold and stamp-making, techniques of the Mata Ortiz, and clay and glaze calculations, among other subjects.

The Guild also sponsors several workshops each year. We have hosted a number of esteemed potters in past years and have enjoyed learning from many masters of the craft. This coming year's workshops are just as exciting. John Calver presented a workshop on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29, and Kathy Triplett was also our guest, as she presented on Saturday, July 12. For more information on the kinds of workshops we host and to learn how you can attend upcoming events, click on the name of the visiting potter, or visit our Events Page.
