|Who We Are
The Carolina Clay Guild is
a non-exclusive organization of people who work with clay. Our purpose
is to provide the opportunity for members and the public to gain experience
with ceramics. We aim to increase skill, with, and appreciation of,
The Guild was founded in 1985.
Members include production potters and clay sculptors, professional and
amateur, throughout the Southeast region.
Carolina Clay Guild Does
The Guild shares information and
experience in a variety of formats. Programs presented at regular
meetings include such topics as photographing ceramics, hand-building and
wheel-throwing tips and techniques, tax and accounting responsibilities,
and studio safety. Recent speakers have shared knowledge regarding the
submission of work to galleries, and presented exciting techniques for
glazing. Upcoming talks will also include simple mold and stamp-making,
techniques of the Mata Ortiz, and clay and glaze calculations, among other
The Guild also sponsors several
workshops each year. We have hosted a number of esteemed potters
in past years and have enjoyed learning from many masters of the craft.
This coming year's workshops are just as exciting. John
Calver presented a workshop on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29,
and Kathy Triplett was also our guest,
as she presented on Saturday, July 12. For more information on the

A newsletter reports to all members
on upcoming events, items for sale, and Guild business. All members
receive the newsletter, and now are offered the opportunity of receiving
